OBRIST Engineering dedicates its activities to the promotion of CO2 as the refrigerant of the future. It is specialised on the conception, design and development of R744 components and systems. In addition, the company offers innovative services in the field of stationary refrigeration and heat pump technology and delivers cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions to complex projects.
Services related to R744 technology in Mobile Air Conditioning systems:
- Concept & design of R744 systems and components, calculation of system performance coefficients and execution of necessary safety tests
- Control and tuning of complete R744 systems in cooperation with an external engineering office specialized in measurement instrumentation and cybernetics
- 3D design with Pro-Engineer throughout the entire development process
- Fully automated R744 compressor test rig (both for internal testing and for sale): static and dynamic measurements, standardized analysis, continuous running tests, cycle tests, evaluation with real gas values
- R744 oil & bearing test rig adaptable to customer requirements: development tool for the analysis of real oil viscosity under CO2 atmosphere based on the measured lifetime reduction of the bearings
OBRIST Engineering distinguishes itself through high flexibility; with internal design, construction and prototype build up a wide range of costumer demands can be taken into account during the development phase.

| About OBRIST Engineering |
 |
The foundation of OBRIST Engineering GmbH in 1996 marked a major milestone in a continuing success story which all began with Frank Obrist's early career as a senior design engineer at Dr Felix Wankel's Technical Development Centre (TES). During the last decade OBRIST Engineering has grown from three to about 20 employees and increased the business volume and area tremendously. The success of OBRIST Engineering was rewarded in 2000, when OBRIST Engineering received the Province of Vorarlberg's Innovation Prize.
