Last week, R744.com published an interview with Dr. Armin Hafner, member of the GREEN-MAC-LCCP working group and R744 expert at SINTEF, about the challenges connected with the development of this tool. According to Hafner said, to offer a transparent life cycle emissions analysis model for car air conditioning, the tool needs to integrate more real-life testing data, realistic emission values, and an enhanced usability of data output.

Today, Dr. Stephen O. Andersen (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), Dr. Stella Papasavva (General Motors), and Ward Atkinson (Chair SAE Interior Climate Control Committee) – members of the GREEN-MAC-LCCP development team – have issued an extensive response, where they contest some of Dr. Hafner’s key arguments by defending the methodology the tool follows:
