Like every three years, the EuroShop, held from 23-27 February in Düsseldorf, Germany, brought together suppliers and retailers from 91 countries to explore the latest trends in the investment goods industry. Out of 17 halls covering more than 200.000 sqm, two were dedicated to refrigeration technologies, including supermarket cabinets and cold storage. This year’s list of exhibitors showcasing CO2 Technology for trans- and subcritical systems included well established brands, such as Bock, Bitzer, Behr, Carrier, Danfoss, Epta, Ingersoll Rand (Koxka) and Norpe. Newcomers investing in CO2 Technology attracted great interest from suppliers and retailers for their innovative refrigeration solutions, with the booth of Swedish manufacturer Green & Cool being highly popular with industry experts for their CO2 racks operating in supermarkets across Europe.

Suppliers of CO2-based systems unanimously confirmed to R744.com that interest from visitors for these models was higher than anticipated, indicating a clear direction towards a wider use of R744 in the retail industry. As an extra, Carrier had a live demonstration of a CO2 supermarket systems working on the exhibition floor.
