Sensata wins multimillion contracts for R744 sensors |

Sensata Technologies Holland B.V. won the first multimillion contracts for the supply of high-quality high pressure sensors in R744 automotive air-conditioning systems.

According to company sources, Sensata will be the first supplier nominated to deliver the sensors in air-conditioning systems with the alternative refrigerant CO2 (R744) to several Original Equipment Manufacturers. The deliveries will commence in 2011. The contracts further enable the company to pursue its strategy of developing environmentally friendly technologies, as Sensata holds closely to encourage environmental responsiveness in its products and among all its employees.

About Sensata's R744 Sensor
Sensata’s hermetic Piezo PPT sensor accurately measures both pressure and temperature in R744 Mobile Air Conditioning systems. With a fluid temperature measurement range of -40°C to 180°C and a pressure range of 0 to 176 bar, the sensor ensures an optimized system performance through fast pressure and temperature accuracy. It significantly reduces the risk of leakage, and protects the compressor against high temperatures.
