Nihon Itomic's products offer high efficiency, reliability, and variable heating capacities to suit any customer demand. Itomic's Eco-Cute units already make up more than 60% of the Japanese market for business units. They are applied in office buildings, stores, airports, and hotels, among others.
Eco-Cute – a success story
Together with Tokyo Electric Power Company, Nihon Itomic developed Eco-Cute, the first hot water heat pumps using the natural refrigerant CO2 (R744). By compressing CO2, Itomic's Eco-Cute models succeeded in heating water as high as to 90°C, achieving a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 3.8. They operate efficiently in regions with temperatures of -20°C which is technically impossible with chemical substances.

Since the start of commercialization in 2002, Itomic has sold nearly 1,000 Eco-Cute units, with an increasing demand from Korea, Taiwan, and China. The company’s brand name ITOMIC is known as a common noun for electric water heaters in Japan. In 2007, Itomic's Eco-Cute model for business use received a award from a public corporation administered by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
