Visteon reacts to VDA choice of CO2 |

In its latest press release the automotive supplier has highlighted the benefits of its production-ready CO2 (R744) air conditioning system which will reduce fuel use by up to 25%. The company now hopes that carmakers worldwide will opt for efficient CO2 Technology.

Following yesterday's confirmation by German carmakers to choose CO2 for next-generation mobile air conditioning (MAC), Visteon has once again highlighted the benefits of its R744 systems and components in a press release published by CNN.com today. Successfully tested in more than 30 prototype vehicles of 12 different vehicle manufacturers, Visteon's products enable up to 25% less fuel consumption and a reduction in tailpipe emissions of up to 7 g/km.

As part of its CO2 MAC system, Visteon has designed the robust fitting technology "VisCO2nnect", which is presented on R744.com. This component will assure the required level of pressure and an easy assembly.
Having invested in CO2 Technology since 1999, Visteon is now positive about a global use of R744 systems that can be integrated in parallel to the phase-out of existing R134a systems:

"Today we can offer a production-ready and complete R744 climate system, which not only meets upcoming European legislation on greenhouse gases, but also helps our customers improve fuel economy," explains Nurdal Kucukkaya, Visteon's Vice President.
