Freudenberg, a global technology specialist for sealing, will present its innovative sealing products for high-pressure CO2 car air conditioning on R744.com.

The sealing components by Freudenberg meet the most stringent demands in terms of pressure, temperature, chemical and physical resistance, as well as hardness and shape. They are precisely adapted to the requirements of CO2 air conditioning systems, operating reliably under extreme operating conditions of up to 150 bar and temperatures of up to 180°C. They play therefore a key role in ensuring a safe operation of the R744 system.
The high-precision elastomer seals, applied in different locations throughout the CO2 (R744) cooling cycle, prove to be highly resistant to explosive decompression that causes erosive bursts of competitive non-resistant seals. Using the innovative rubber materials 85 HNBR 230861 and 85 EPDM 232444 especially developed for high-pressure systems, Freudenberg's ISC O-rings showed not only the lowest CO2 permeation rate, but also efficient performance during rapid pressure and temperature changes. This will lead to further reductions of carbon dioxide emissions and increase the efficiency of next-generation cooling systems.
