At last year's International Trade Fair for Refrigeration (IKK), Bock presented for the first time two completely new compressor series for CO2 applications, comprising both the subcritical application area for pressures up to 40 bar, and the transcritical area for pressures up to 130 bar.
The new product range of semi-hermetic compressors features an innovative cylinder design, extremely small dimensions, and high energy efficiency. The CO2 compressor families are suitable for various applications, ranging from commercial cabinets and hot water heat pumps to industrial applications.

Bock's development of CO2 compressors for transcritical applications dates back to the early 1990s when it developed the first open compressor for bus air conditioning. Since then the product range has been expanded to include semi-hermetic compressors suitable for small, medium and large performance ranges in supermarket applications and water heating pumps.
Given that over the next years environmentally safe refrigerants are expected to be the paramount topic in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, Bock decided to intensify the development of a complete compressor series suitable for CO2 used in the low temperature stage of cascade systems.

Based on its semi-hermetic products, the sub-critical compressor family is especially suited for supermarket and industrial cooling systems, where it features high operational safety, reliability and a low-wearing long-life mechanism.
