CO₂/Ammonia Freeze Package (CAFP)

Description:

Under its product brand Sabroe, Johnson Controls has developed a freeze package optimized for industrial cascade systems and a high-pressure reciprocating compressor, to be used also in heat pump applications.

Advantages:

• Low power consumption: 45% less compared to single-stage systems with economisers; 5-15% compared to two-stage systems
• Compact design: saves space, gives greater flexibility
• Very small ammonia charge: installation of large-capacity, low-temperature plants with only limited refrigerant restrictions is possible
• Clear separation of ammonia and CO2: eliminates risk of damage in production in case of leaks
• Automatic oil recovery system in both circuits: only minimum maintenance required
