Global technology providers have until this Friday to submit their low-GWP project proposals for the incubator program.

Submit before Friday, February 14.

Time is running out to submit project proposals offering highly efficient air-conditioning or refrigeration solutions using low-GWP or natural refrigerants for consideration in a free Cooling-as-a-service (CaaS) incubator program. The deadline for submissions is this Friday, February 14.

The incubator program is being led by the Switzerland-based Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE), which has already received a number of applications from around the world. Interested parties can apply through the CaaS website.

The Cooling as a Service Initiative is led by the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE), along with the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP). It aims to decrease energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from cooling use through a pay-per-service model for more efficient cooling systems. The CaaS model is endorsed by the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance.

In the incubator program, five companies will be selected to receive free support from BASE to integrate CaaS into their business lines. Selected companies will receive assistance on technical, legal and financial aspects to implement the CaaS model, such as contractual arrangement, pricing strategy, and financial structuring, including risk mitigation mechanisms, among others.

The five winners will be announced on February 28, 2020.

For more information on CaaS, visit the CaaS Initiative website, the BASE’s project page or the Global Labs’s project page.
