The EU-funded NARECO2 project has ensured that the e-learning module for CO2 refrigeration is now available online at no charge. This complete interactive tool is designed to highlight the specificities of using CO2 as a refrigerant and builds on the basic understanding required to successfully install and handle R744 systems.
Free CO2 e-learning course now available online
NARECO2 – short for: NAtural REfrigerant CO2 is a cooperative project between seven partners from academia and the industry. It aims to collocate knowledge from different areas of expertise applying R744 technology and organise it so that it will be easily available for all. Besides the “Natural Refrigerant CO2” manual, which can be already downloaded for free in PDF-format, an online-course of CO2 as refrigerant is now available as well.

How to access the CO2 online course

The e-learning module can be accessed after submitting the following information at marnik.lenaerts@khlim.be :

The NARECO2 Vision

NARECO2 has been running since 2007 to bring together and share knowledge and experience regarding CO2 refrigeration installations. It is hoped that by distributing the necessary knowledge across the globe, regions currently slower in adopting R744 technology will participate more actively to this rapidly growing field. The project is financially supported by the EU Leonardo Life Long Learning programme and envisages a more intense use of R744 technology in these regions. Although knowledge in different parts of Europe exists, it is not accessible in a structured format for engineers, employees and teachers to exploit its full potential. NARECO2 set out to change this.

The project partners are: Catholic University Limburg (Belgium), SINTEF (Norway), University of Padova (Italy), Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Bundesfachschule Kälte-Klima-Technik (Germany), Danish Technological Institute (Denmark), and Shecco (Belgium).
