UK based company ICS Heat Pump Technology unveiled today the UK’s first natural refrigerant based commercial heat pump. Developed in partnership with Nihon Itomic, the “ICS-ITOMIC ECO CUTE CO2” may provide up to 90°C output temperature with a high COP and is available for either sanitary hot water purposes or combined sanitary hot water and heating.
The press launch of the 90°C ICS-ITOMIC ECO CUTE CO2 took place today at the ICS Group Facility in Southampton, UK. A presentation by Hirotaka Itou, President of Nihon-Itomic providing an overview of the huge Japanese market for CO
2 heat pumps was then followed by a presentation by Malcolm Edwards, ICS Group Technical Manager, who provided an insight into the potential growth of CO
2 as a refrigerant within the UK market.
The event further provided an invaluable opportunity to see a demonstration of this new CO
2 heat pump unit and witness its ability to deliver high temperature hot water with a very high efficiency.
“We are very enthusiastic about launching the Itomic product in the UK. We see great potential for the developing market of low-carbon heating and hot water products within the commercial and industrial markets in the UK”, said to R744.com an ICS representative.
