This final article provides an overview as well as an image gallery of the residential CO2 heat pumps showcased last week at the Energy Solution & Thermal Storage Fair 2009 in Tokyo, Japan.
Besides the commercial Eco Cute heat pump models discussed in the previous article, several manufacturers showcased at the Tokyo Big Sight International Convention Center their Eco Cute models for residential use. Besides stating the Coefficient of Performance (COP), several manufacturers presented their products’ advantages in terms of their Annual Performance Factor (APF) or the CO
2e savings achieved for a given period.
The showcased CO2 products for residential use
Several manufacturers showcased their residential Eco Cute, including SANYO, Daikin, Panasonic, HITACHI, CORONA and YAZAKI. More specifically:
SANYO showcased it residential Eco Cute that saves 50% of CO
2e compared to a gas boiler
Daikin showcased it residential Eco Cute achieving a COP of 4.8
Panasonic showcased it residential Eco Cute achieving a COP of 4.1. The product saves about 559 kg of CO2e per year and 1,000 YEN per month
HITACHI showcased it residential Eco Cute achieving a COP of 4.3.
CORONA's residential Eco Cute saving 48 kg of CO
2e per month which is equal to switching from a car with a milage of 10km/litre to one with 20km/litre. At its stand the company further presented the DENSO CO
2 microchannel aluminium evaporators used for CORONA's Eco Cute.
YAZAKI showcased its Eco Cute residential heat pump coupled with a solar collector.
