German component manufacturer ESK Schultze is joining R744.com as a silver partner to present its high-quality oil separators, suction line accumulators and oil reservoirs for transcritical CO2 applications. The new product series are based on experience gained with components for R744 subcritical applications developed since 2004 for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

ESK Schultze GmbH & Co.KG has a long-standing experience in manufacturing components for the HVAC industry. For 25 years, the company has been developing and producing discharge line mufflers, oil separators, suction line accumulators, oil control systems, strainers and receivers. Through a worldwide network of trading partners and its administration and production facilities based near Berlin the company ensures smoothly operations for its customers also at short notice.
ESK Schultze - CO2 track record
ESK Schultze used its experience as a component manufacturer for the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry to answer to the increasing demand for more eco-friendly systems. In 2004, the company produced its first separate component series for subcritical CO
2 applications, following the trend towards more environmental protection and higher energy efficiency, as well as taxation of refrigerants. Since then, ESK Schultze has gained experience by manufacturing components for OEM customers, system installers and universities. SK-oil control systems for parallel compressor operation applied in supermarkets and food freezers work already successfully with CO
2 in countries such as Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and Italy.
Last year and faced with a rapidly rising demand for transcritical CO
2 components, ESK Schultze produced its first individual units on request. Presented to the public at the leading HVAC&R trade fair Chillventa 2008, its hermetic oil separators, oil reservoirs and suction line accumulators sparked high interest. Only after a few months, ESK Schultze could move away from the concept of single-unit production towards a broader series production, which has brought down delivery times significantly. Its oil separators, to be presented on R744.com within the next weeks, are built to withstand a maximum operating pressure of 130 bar. The oil reservoirs and suction line accumulators, to follow soon, are suitable for a PS=70 bar. All components comply with high industry quality standards, as well as the European Pressure Equipment Directive and the German AD2000-rules.
Reaction
“We have been manufacturing components successfully applied in subcritical applications for several years now. Without doubt, we are also interested in offering high-quality solutions for transcritical applications. R744.com gives us the possibility to present our components for these systems to a broader audience, to get in contact with different target groups and to exchange experiences.”
