The International Institute of Refrigeration and Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating has made the first call for papers for the 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Working Fluids, to be held in Sydney in April 2010.

The 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference: “natural refrigerants – real alternatives”, to be held in Sydney on 12-14 April 2010, will bring together the world’s HVAC&R experts to explore the latest research results and advances related to the use of natural refrigerants, including R744 in refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump systems and more. The organisers are now accepting two-page paper abstracts.
Main topic areas
Main topic areas will include:
- Natural primary refrigerants
- Secondary coolants and ice slurries
- Sorption systems
- Non conventional refrigeration systems
- Heat transfer and fluid flow
- Energy use and energy efficiency of natural working fluid systems
R744 key topics
Regarding R744, papers are being sought on the following key topics:
- Sustainable heating and cooling with CO2
- CO2 in hot climates
- CO2 heat pump systems
Next steps
The deadline for submission of two-page abstracts for assessment by the scientific committee and peer review is 27 July 2009, with the provisional acceptance of abstracts and the deadline for receiving full papers due on 10 August 2009 and 12 October 2009 respectively.
