The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and elearning-training.com have joined forces to help developing countries accelerate the phase out of climate-damaging gases through online training courses. Emerging economies will receive a 50% discount on all courses, including the “CO2 Refrigeration” module.

The awarded online training provider, elearning-training.com, and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) have partnered up to assist developing countries to equip refrigeration and air conditioning engineers with the skills and knowledge required to fully exploit their potential. The IIR and elearning-training.com hope that their cooperation will encourage continuing professional development and best practice in emerging economies through the delivery of self paced courses available at any time, and from any PC in the world with internet connection.
IIR members will be able to purchase a range of training courses offered by elearning-training.com on Refrigeration Fundamentals, Air Conditioning Fundamentals and the newly launched preparatory course on F-Gas Regulations. All modules will be available at reduced prices to help emerging economies comply with their refrigeration-related commitments under the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols. IIR members from developing countries, based on the published data from the OECD, are entitled to a 50% discount on any course offered by elearning-training.com.
IIR members resident in developed countries will also benefit from the scheme by obtaining a 10% discount.
CO2 course available at discount price
To help both developed and developing countries accelerate the market uptake of CO
2-based refrigeration systems, elearning-training.com has added a “CO
2 Refrigeration” course to its portfolio. The world’s first interactive CO
2 (R744) online course, as all other modules accessible at a discount price, is expected to familiarize developing countries with the design, installation and maintenance of R744 transcritical and cascade systems, introduce users to the opportunities this technology provides, and enhance the knowledge of those already working with R744.
“Star Refrigeration has been working on the development of CO
2 technologies for more than 15 years. CO
2 is a natural environmentally friendly refrigerant and because it is not subject to regulations, the range of applications is increasing, including supermarket installations. Developing countries will receive information on the use of R744 technologies at affordable rates to help countries accelerate the phase-out of ozone-depleting substances in refrigeration”, says Graham Stuart, Managing Director Operations of Star Refrigeration.
How to get the discount?
IIR members can benefit from the special discount by using a "promotional code" that is available through the IIR's website. Entering the code during the online purchase process will automatically discount the price and the member will have immediate access to the course.
