New subcritical compressor range from FRASCOLD

Italian manufacturer FRASCOLD has added the first three compressors for subcritical applications to R744.com. All models feature high reliability, safety and performance, as well as an advanced design ensuring a smooth transition from HFC-based systems to CO₂.

FRASCOLD’s new SK reciprocating compressor series features a brand new design to make the transition from HFC models to more sustainable CO₂ solutions easier than ever. After two years of development, the Italian manufacturer thus launched its compressor series for R744 application earlier this year as a product to be easily integrated into existing systems, making a move away from high global warming HFCs more cost-competitive by the day.

The subcritical semi-hermetic single stage models are suitable for pressures up to 42 bar. They are especially suited for the low stage of R744 cascade systems and as part of a booster system in commercial refrigeration, among others. All are equipped with high efficiency electric motors, valve plates with innovative design, an internal relief valve (set point 28 bar), suction and discharge valves (sweat connection), rubber vibration absorbers, oil sight glass and protection devices. FRASCOLD’s models are coated with an anti-rust protective primer and blue enamel coating. For all compressors, protection is performed by a series of PTC thermistors placed into the stator winding of the electric motor and plugged to an electronic control module.
