At the international exhibition for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps leading suppliers of CO2 technology will meet next week in Nuremberg, Germany. R744.com will report live from this key event to feature some R744 “premieres”.
CO2 on display at next week's Chillventa When the Chillventa 2008 trade fair opens its door next Wednesday, 15 October, more than 800 exhibitors from 42 countries will showcase product innovations for the HVAC&R industry. Among the companies displaying latest cooling and heating systems and solutions will be numerous R744.com partners active in the field of CO2 Technology: Alfa Laval, Bitzer, Bock, Carel, Danfoss, Dorin, enEX, Hydro, Inficon, Johnson Controls, Mayekawa, Robinair, Sanyo, and Star Refrigeration.

Meeting in Nuremberg from 15-17 October, manufacturers and suppliers, but also wholesale companies, associations and training institutions will showcase products and services in support of higher energy efficiency in the HVAC&R industry - the main theme of Chillventa 2008. Product categories range from refrigeration components and systems for industrial and commercial applications to heat pumps for ambient heating and simultaneous cooling, and services for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

CO2 in the spotlight

In addition to the R744.com partners already mentioned, other international suppliers of CO2 technology will be present at Chillventa, among them Embraco, Agramkow, Swep, Carrier, Vatherus, Epta, Frascold, Tecumseh or GEA Refrigeration.

Some CO2 “premieres” might be expected for the upcoming event, such as the new brazed plate heat exchanger for high-pressure CO2 refrigeration systems and heat pumps developed by Swedish manufacturer Alfa Laval.

On 16 October, eurammon - a European initiative of companies, institutions and individuals promoting the use of natural refrigerants - will offer a series of presentations titled “Refrigeration Applications with Natural Refrigerants”. The first lecture will explore “Recent Developments in Carbon Dioxide Cooling in Data Centres and Buildings”, held in cooperation with Star Refrigeration. Another presentation will cover natural refrigerants in supermarket refrigeration.

Sustainable heating & cooling discussed

Before the event’s official opening, the German Association of Heating and Cooling will hold its 2nd International Heat Pumps Symposium on 14 October to share “Experiences and Opportunities for Industrial Heat Pumps for Heating, Cooling and Climatisation”. The symposium will also analyse progress made over the last 2.5 years under the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Heat Pump programme, comparing experiences gained with heat pumps in Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany and France. Over the following three days, a permanent “Industrial Heat Pump Village” at the Chillventa will allow exhibitors, professional associations and organizations to promote heat pump technology in an area of 400 m2.

Also on 14 October, ASERCOM, the Association of European Refrigeration Compressor and Controls manufacturer, and EPEE, the European Partnership for Energy and Environment, will invite refrigeration and air conditioning experts to provide a comprehensive overview of EU legislation affection energy-using products, the buildings sector, and systems using fluorinated gases.
