The leading German and Danish automotive suppliers confirmed this week that they will join forces to develop, produce and sell service equipment for next-generation CO2 car air conditioning worldwide.

On 16 September, Robert Bosch GmbH and AGRAMKOW Fluid Systems A/S announced their intention to cooperate in supplying products for the automotive aftermarket, namely for R744 (CO
2) Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) maintenance equipment. Following last year’s announcement by all German carmakers to use R744 in future vehicles, AGRAMKOW and Bosch will join forces to supply new service equipment needed for these air conditioning systems. Moreover, both companies will build up a cooperation network to develop, produce, sell and service R744 MAC equipment on a global scale. AGRAMKOW will manufacture CO
2 servicing stations, whereas Bosch will use its extensive sales network to bring them to market.
AGRAMKOW, having developed CO
2 equipment for the appliance industry since 2002, has worked in close cooperation with German carmakers to develop and test an R744 service station according to VDA (German Automotive Association) specifications. As a result, the Danish supplier is now ready for serial production of the station, presented together with Bosch at the Automechnika exhibition currently taking place in Frankfurt, Germany.
Robert Bosch GmbH, Business Unit Automotive Aftermarket, will take over the distribution and sales of AGRAMKOW’s R744 servicing units worldwide. After the development of a CO
2 Climate Control Sensor, this is Bosch’s next step to support the advancement of environmentally benign MAC technology.
“This will make us one of the first global suppliers of service technology for CO
2 air conditioning systems”, Peter Tyroller, Member of the Board of Management of the Bosch group told the press on 16 September.
