IOR Training Forum to discuss UK standards for CO2

On 4 July 2011, the UK Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) will be hosting a free Training Forum event, whereby the forthcoming City & Guilds CPD (Continuing Professional Development) CO2 training course, as well as a national introductory course on CO2 commercial refrigeration endorsed by retailers will be discussed.

Organised in London, UK, the IOR event will be looking at industry-led training initiatives, allowing participants with an interest in RAC and heat pump vocational training in the UK to get an update on training initiatives in certain areas and contribute to an interactive discussion on key issues.

CO2 training session

One of the forum sessions will discuss UK national standards for carbon dioxide refrigeration skills, namely:
  • City and Guilds Level 3 CPD Units of Credit in Carbon Dioxide (6187), John Shaw
  • Supermarket endorsed short course in Carbon Dioxide service and maintenance. Steve Benton
Other sessions

The programme will also include:
  • Introduction and welcome from Jane Gartshore, Past President of the IOR
  • Industry training and qualification initiatives. Brief updates on: the new ACRIB Skillcard for refrigerant handling qualifications; IOR’s REAL Zero CPD and REAL Skills Europe e-learning; support for students from their professional institute; BRA Brazing specification; developments in the Heat Pump sector.
  • Group discussion session - The future for RAC training standards
  • Feedback from groups
  • Summary and close from Jane Gartshore
Participation details

The event is free of charge for representatives of training providers, employers and trade press or association representatives. Delegates must register in advance on this website
